French and Indian War William and Hezikiah Hall William Hall was killed by Cherokee Indians on May 1, 1757, in the Cherokee Indian war in Bedford County, Virginia. His son, Hezikiah, fought in the same battle alongside him. American Revolutionary War John Overstreet First Virginia Regiment, Continental Army John Overstreet served under Captain William Campbell. He was in the battles of: Brandywine; Germantown; the storming of the fort at Stony point under General Wayne; the Battle of Monmouth; and the Siege of York.
