...continued from here
I'll have to admit that Thunderball was never a great favorite of mine from the James Bond series. I found the underwater sequences too long and tedious. And maybe that's why I completely missed the fact that "Never Say Never Again" was a remake.
All of the James Bond films follow about the same formula. And after seeing "Never Say Never Again" in the theaters in 1983, I didn't even notice that the bad guy was "Largo" and that the Bond girl was "Domino", or that it was about a plot to steal nuclear bombs and hold the world for ransom. So you have a choice with "Thunderball" - you can see Sean Connery at age 35 in the original, or age 53 in the remake. Kim Basinger was Domino in the remake - she was just a kid when the original was made.
My idea is to do another remake of "Thunderball", starring Sean Connery again. As of this writing he is 80. Perhaps it could be called "Thunderagain" or something like that. I wonder if his stunt man is still available? Maybe we could bring Kim Basinger back. What do you think?
