This tour takes you from my front door in Glendale, Arizona, to the Burger King® on 67th Avenue and Peoria with sights along the way. Total distance: approximately 1/2 mile. It is Tuesday, February 1st, 2005. The temperature is 61 degrees F. Thank you for walking with me! - Brad

The front door of my house in Glendale. Of course, this isn't the view you'd see unless you looked over your shoulder, which I rarely do. Out the gate and across the driveway. Again, this is what you would see looking over your shoulder. OK, now you're looking forward, going due north. You're on 65th Lane. The street sign just says "no outlet". Tuesdays are garbage pick-up days in my neighborhood so you'll see the cans out. The black ones are for regular garbage, the green ones are for recycle. You're still going north. You've just passed Brown street and have walked about half a block.

Another couple of blocks and you enter the back of the shopping center through the pedestrian entrance in the block wall. This is the back of the empty building which has been a Lucky's grocery store and then a Southwest Supermarket. Mostly it's been empty. Notice the plywood and all of the black smudges on the wall. They had a fire there not long ago. Now you see the front of the empty building. "Word on the street" says that Wal-Mart is going to tear it down and build a groceries-only Wal-Mart. The rest of the complex is undergoing a face-lift. You are looking southwest. Glance back over your shoulder and you'll see chain-link fencing as they prepare for the face-lift. Looking east at Factory 2U and Aarons Rents. Here's the Circle K® that I walked to for coffee for many years. It's been closed up like this for several months now.

Coffee at Burger King Inside of Family Dollar Walking south Front door
The coffee at Burger King® is pretty good. If you're trying to cut down on your caffeine like I am, you can mix in some decaf. Walking back now. This is the inside of one of my favorite places. It's called "Family Dollar". Not really a dollar store, but an interesting and inexpensive place to find little things you might need. It's right next to Factory 2U. Now you're walking back on 65th Lane, looking south. Nice quiet street. See the garbage cans? My neighborhood doesn't have any alleys so we have to put the cans out every Tuesday. Back home. Time to check e-mail, maybe surf the web a bit.
