I bought my Saab Sonett in the summer of 1979 and kept it until 1986, when I sold it, still in beautiful condition, in Santa Barbara, California. I wonder if it's still out there? This is an article written about it in The Sports Car Trader in 1981, Phoenix, Arizona.

When my Midget was wrecked in the summer of 1979, one of the owners of the repair shop where I had been taking it to, Chuck Collins of Delta Motorsports, suggested that I get a Saab Sonett. He owned a Sonett II, and although I didn't care for that, when I saw the Sonett III, I went wild. In my opinion, it was strikingly beautiful, in spite of the fact that it was "burnt orange" (yes, that was the official factory name for the color). But mostly, it felt good. I had been described as one of those people who didn't drive cars as much as wear them, and this car was a perfect fit. If you've never driven something as nimble and light as this, I can't describe it.
